CAI on '78?

CAI on '78? OK, last one (for now

Any ideas on the best way to do CAI for my '78 T/A + LS1?
And the potentially-related question - thoughts on what to do about the air-scoop? Bolt it to the hood? Fabricate something to mount it on the LS1? Bolting to the hood seems like it's probably best, but if the answer for CAI is to make the shaker/scoop functional (it's currently just decoration), then mounting to the engine might be best?

If there is enough room on top of the intake I would bolt it to the engine and make it functional. You could attach the MAF directly to the TB and then a 90deg elbow straight up. Bend an airbox out of aluminum so that it sits on the intake and use a flat air filter like in a LS1 camaro or LSx truck. You could put the filter right in/under the shaker scoop, so it filters the air as it goes from the scoop into the airbox.
