LS1 into a 3rden Questions. Okay guys I was recently thinking about putting an LS1 into a 3rd generation camaro. I have some questions for you guys. What do you think this would cost me not including the car and the engine and transmission. I will be going with a T56. Could i get a complete list of parts needed and maybe some advice and thing to watch out for.
need to find an RS with a 5 speed.. 2-3k.. engine and tranny.. 3-5k
its going to nickle and dime you to death with all the little things, like fuel lines, wiring, cooling system, A/C modification to the K member, complete custom exhaust.. T56 crossmember.. ect ect ect..
if i were you... i would go over to www.thirdgen.org and look in the engine swap boards, they have sticky's on what you need as well as talk to some of the guys who did the swap.
if i were you... i would budget about $10k (since you are including the cost of the car) but fine one that already was a 5 speed car... that way you dont have to buy clutch pedals, modify the firewall, cut the trans tunnel.. ect..

Or do what i did, i got a 91 RS, found a wrecked 2000 camaro with a good engine n running gear and interior for 2700$, i swaped in the interior, tranny, rearend, driveshaft, everything in the engine compartment. whatever i didnt use on the 2000 i ebay and made back more then half of what i bought it for.

Just don't start with an LSx block and start building from that point or it will cost you alot and drive you crazy. Don't ask me who was dumb enough to do that. 
I have spent more time on here looking for parts than anything. The best part is that this car will be exactly how I want it and if anything isn't right then I will just have myself to be disapointed in.

They are cheaper, very few were abused bc it had the v6 and not the v8, which also means alot of them werent cut up, raced, and have everything still intact as far as wiring goes.
