Help with conversion I recently made a post that I had 10k to spend on my Nova, well now I have about 14K. I have found a few 6.0's that go in trucks. What would it take to get them running a lil more like the vette? I'm running out of time cuz I go on deployment at the end of this month and I have to buy most of the big stuff for my mechanic to get started and have it driveable by Aug. I am probably gonna go with the M6 behind it. Basically, asking what would yall do?
Id bump the compression using some good heads, get a better flowing intake, (truck's good, but it falls on its face after 5500,) and a cam (and goodies that go with it, IE: LS2 timing chain, ported LS6 oil pump, good springs). A performance tune and good flowing intake and exhaust will really wake it up. good luck with the conversion, sounds sweet.

Thanks for the input. I will start looking for those parts. I know I am gonna have to go with a different oil pan. Anyone know who/if anyone makes one? The car is currently in Georgia right now where my friend/mechanic is gonna get it started. When I get back from deployment I will be relocating to Bakersfield so hopefully I will find some knowledgeable people and places.
Our cars have near identical subframes.. (I actually sectioned portions of my frame from a '70 nova)..I notched my own F-body pan, but Tyler at ATS sells a fully baffled setup with feed lines optional that'll fit both of our frames for $499. website's www.t56kit.com, he doesnt have them up yet, I think, but they're available if you call him. Street and Performance sells a notched pan for $200 provided you send in a core, i believe. (www.hotrodlane.cc).. see my sticky if you want to notch your own or see how I did it..
