custom long tubes
custom long tubes ok so I dont have the money to get the hawks long tubes for a thirdgen ls1 conversion, BUT....has anyone tried to convert sbc thirdgen camaro headers to fit an ls1? I read about how a guy did it on thirdgen.org but im wondering if anyone here has done it. Is the angle where the headers come off the heads the same between an ls1 and a regular sbc?
The guy on third gen used the hooker super comp BBC headers and made them work with the LS1, quite a bit easier since the tubes are close to where they need to be on the LS1, he had to rework a couple of them. But with the cost of the headers and the work it would be cheaper to but the hawks headers, but he did it before they were out. It would not be cost effective to try and convert SBC headers, you might as well start from scratch since they are so different.
oh...I knew about the sbc being different but i didnt know about the bbc having all of the ports separate. Eh....something that I will have to buy and sit for a couple hours and think about....
