6.0 into 86 monte.
6.0 into 86 monte. A friend of mine is doing a built/carbed 6.0 swap into an 86 monte. We are wondering what oil pan works the best? He just has the original 02 truck pan now. Thanks.

The truck oil pan will clear, but it will hang down a LOT, 2-3"below the bottom of the crossmember. The bottom of the camaro pan should sit about 1/2" above the bottom of the crossmember. That is why most people use camaro pans for their conversions, the vette ones are difficult to fit into anything except a vette and the truck oil pans will fit almost anything that a camaro pan will, but they hang too far down for most people to be comfortable driving on the street with them.
He modified mine around 3 yrs ago and have not ever had a problem with it
