Default LS1 plate problem with 3rd gen

So I'm swapping in an LS1 in my buds 1990 Camaro RS.

The Car was originally a V8.

We called up transdapt where he got the adapter plates (S&P style), and they said it would work fine with the newer 'clam shell' mounts on the frame. Just use the same washer the kit come with between the plates and the mount.

So we bolt everything up, and now the motor mounts won't line up. We can get one to line up, but the usually either side will not line up with the hole. the hole on the mount which is on the block usually is further out, closer to the fender.

Has anyone had this problem before?

ended up making my own.

have you tryed flipping the mounts. a buddy of mine pulled his motor and switched to some ES mounts and he had the same problem and after about 2 hours of trying to drop the motor back in with no luck, he looked at them and one was on backwards. flipped it and it droped right in

the transdapt type mounts are just too thick. sits the motor up so high that the bolt holes wont line up from motor to frame.
