Default fuel regulator location?

Evening folks, this fuel injection stuff is new to me. Hopefully someone in the know can help. I am in the process of sliping a complete 2004 5.3/ tranny removed from a GMC serria into a old truck, and am at the point of running the fuel line. I am using an in tank fuel pump from a 2004 Trailblazer & need to know if the fuel filter/ regulator (for 99 up vetts) shown in the facts post will work for my application. I don't see a regulator on the fuel rail on my motor. I looked all over & under a 2005 chevy truck in a car lot & can not find a regulator anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. My local parts store & chevy dealer were no help.
Thanks.

Default easy return rail

Larry:
I also am putting a 2004 motor in a 1958 Chevy Delray. I went to the salvage yard and bought a earlier (1999 to 2002) truck manifold the had the return style fuel rail and put on mine. I got it complete with injectors ect for 50 bucks.

Just change the rails with the one you have now and you get the return and regulator. Patch the vacuum line in and you are set to go. Now I even have a spare set of injectors in case.

Thanks for the good info Indiana, I was hoping to save some cash by not using so much braided hose, & I really don't want to R&R the injectors, motor has only 2100 miles. If I find that the filter/ regulator wont work, then I will definitly take your advice.

On a 86 Monte I just mounted a Vette style filter/regulator close to tank on frame rail and ran a short piece of HP fuel line back to tank. Hope this helps.

The FPR is integral with the fuel pump assy in the '98 and up. No need for a return

Thanks.

that filter regulator will work fine with your motor.
im running it in my camaro, and i have a few friends with swaps also running it.

just mount it wherever it fits... you can have it mounted in the back near the tank, or up front.. of course the farther from the tank it is, the longer the return line...

in the stock truck, the regulator was built into the gas tank... same with the later model fbodys...
the corvette only uses the external filter/regulator because of its unique plastic gas tank shape...

thanks guys, thats what I wanted to hear.
RFERG43, you state that 98 & up use internal to tank regulator/ pump assy. The pump I picked up is from a 2004 Trailblazer, do you think it has regulator built in?
