LS-2 or LS6 in a camaro...easy to do?

i was thinking of dropping an ls2 or ls6 into my 2000 camaro ss....
would this be easy or would i need a new tranny ....and obviously a new rear end...
would it be easier to do this or just make an all motor LS1???
