Default Are all starters the same?

I was looking to put a 98 auto starter on a 6-speed car. Will it work? Are there any difference in the 98-02 starters?

the tranny should have nothing to do with the starter.

funny I was just about to post up asking the same question.....i just got a 99 ls1 from an auto car but I am going to use a T56....I guess my question is answered

So an auto flexplate and a 6-spd flywheel have the same number of teeth and all years are the same?

i am converting my setup from t56 to a 700r4. just got my gm flexplate#12551367, same teeth side by side as the 6 spd flywheel- was also curious at first!
