More stuff on fuel ... I'm trying to learn all this stuff, so sorry if I have any of this messed up.

I think, based on most of the posts I've seen, that a lot of people don't run the evap line when they do their conversion. They just let the vent tube vent straight out, or sometimes into a chacoal canister.

Since I'm in CA and will have to be passed by a smog ref, I think I might have to have the evap fully functioning. So my question is, what is involved in this? Best I can figure out I need to run a line from the tank's vent up to a charcoal canister and from there to a solenoid that can vent into the manifold. Yes?

So ... any more guidance on this? Parts I need to get?

I hate the fact that my '78 just missed the smog cutoff.

I'm working this myself right now and as near as I can figure there's the vent to/from the engine and the vent to/from the gas tank that goes thru the charcoal in the canister( I'm using the '99 Camaro version) and then get's vented into the air when pressure(purge?) valve opens. I believe it's normally a closed system that opens on demand from a pressure switch on the engine's return vent line. This I think is the intended purpose of the system, that is to keep the fumes in circulation from the engine back into the gas tank to turn back into a liquid state, thus keeping the fumes(polution) from the atmosphere.
