what else do i need? advice... Hey guys i have 10k to spend. I wanna kinda build my own thing though since im having to sell my SS. I can get a Moser 12 bolt, New LS1 from a vette with 32k, and a built T-56 with 32k for 7000. That gives me 3k left to spend... my question is would it be cheaper to do it in a V6, or a Z28... i know i could probly get a V6 with the 3k left over, but i would have to wait if it would be a Z28. Or Should i get a miata??? lol... i guess my question is, what car could i put this in if i couldnt put this in a camaro? Thanks...
IMO, the cheapest car you can dump a Fbody derived LS1 into is a 3rdgen.
slightly behind that are S10s, and older "muscle" cars.. (muscle in quotes since some of the more affordable ones wernt considered muscle cars when they were newish...but they look older, and seem cooler now. )

Where are you located? Do you have strict emissions laws? If you do, then something 60s or older may be a good choice because they are exempt. They also tend to have big engine compartments which makes swapping easier. If emissions are not an issue, then the RX7s seem to be very popular.

why would you want to swap in an LS1 into a 98-02 Z28 when they already come with one? alot of swapping harnesses in doing a v6 car. Starting w/ a Z is way easier. Unless you like challenges?

Take the money and go buy a 6 speeded ls z-28 and start there. Youd be money ahead, and able to drive the thing now. No swap head aches. I see nice 98-99 for 7 grand, ya still got that three grand to play with. Make it easy and you'll be more likely to finish it!
yes, well the thing is, it would be a higher mileage Z28, because they are so cheap. So i wanted to swap out the entire drivetrain... so i can supercharge it or spray it with no worries as to how much life the engine or transmission or rear end has left in it. so then the z28 would be a cheaper swap to do than a v6... it makes sense!

does anyone know a good place to shop for used cars? im really only looking for the body of the z28 and electrical... the transmission can be torn up, the rear can be shot to hell, and the engine can have all kinds of problems. it doesnt matter... i plan on swapping anyway... anyone?
