ls1 into a 97 v6 camaro...HELP I have a 97 V6 automatic camaro and i was wondering what kind of work/money/time a ls1 conversion would be. I can get a ls1 with computer and an automatic trans with 20,000 miles for 2 grand. i know i will need a new rear end, driveshaft, and engine mounts, but as for the many other things that will be needed, i'm clueless.............if anyone can help me out with some suggestions\comments, that would be great.

my friend did a 97 firebird v6 car with an LS1, you'll need, all harnesses, dash, body, engine. The instrument panel, fuel tank, lines, basically everything.

there are some people around that have LS1 cross memebers that they dont need, they will sell them to you cheap or just give them to you. cures motor mounts problem, get the trans mount, driveshaft, gauges and gastank/fuel lines and you should be good.. if you have rear discs and posi your brakes should be fine for a while also.
2k for an LS1 and trans is pretty good
i was going to swap an LS1 into a V6 car and it didnt seem like it was going to be that huge of a deal. motor and body harnesses are completely seperate so you dont have to integrate anything.

The Miami place weblink shows it is a lot easier to swap in an LT1 into a '97 (looking at this for a family member's V6 car). Still a lot of other stuff needed regardless of what you do.
