Throttle Position Controller Well, asked this in the PCM section and maybe it wasn't appropriate there. Being a lot of people start out with donor cars, anyone run across the throttle position controller? Car is an '01 T/A, automatic, with TCS, ABS, Cruise, etc etc.
Is this related to the traction control system? Can I delete it without any ill effects anywhere else? Trying to make a wiring harness for a swap into a '73 and would like to simplify the harness as much as possible. I'd like to use the A/C out of the 4th gen and the cruise control and thats about it.

If you are reffering to the drive-by-wire throttle body then you will need it for the cruise control. When in cruise the computer actually takes over the operation of the throttle. If you change to a cable throttle you will need to change to a cable type cruise control. You will also have to install and wire in a throttle position sensor for the throttle body.
Might be easier to just install the drive-by-wire gas pedal.
