Normal Idle speed?

Normal Idle speed? As you see...i am swapping a 1999 LS1 w/4l60e into a '94 S10. I bought a '94 tach cluster...and hooked up the tach wire. I started it and on cold start...it idled up to about 1150...then after initial warm up cycle it settled down to right about 950. i was told the S10 tach wouldnt work with it because it needs a one pulse tach..not a 2 pulse that the LS1 sends. So does this idle sound right....maybe I got lucky and it just so happens that the '94 cluster uses a 2 pulse...i dunno. Also for info...I am running open headers with no front o2's now. I am still finishing up the little things before it goes off to exhaust shop....so the idle may be a little high cause of that. Thanks in advance for your help.
