seen this in the new chevy high performance mag. I kinda like the idea of a 1stgen kit car. check out the link.

It' s based on the 69. I want to say it' s even titled as such, just read about it in a magazine, but don' t have it handy. A company somewhere out west builds it, and refers to it as a "reskinned 4th gen." It' s a brand new care those, with tons of options. It' s available with either an LS2 or LS7 It' s available with an STS turbo system. It' s available with an air-ride suspension, which this one has. It' s available with chrome trim around the windows and such, or with standard black trim, as seen on this example. It also has a flush-mount fuel filler, in other words, no fuel filler door. You simply insert the nozzle through a botton-type door, that is nearly invisable at first glance. I believe it also lacks am antenna, to further enhance the already slick body lines of the car. It' s stretched 7" longer, providing actual legroom for back seat occupants. It' s a truly bad *** car, with lots of options to make it look either more modern, or more classic, i.e. chrome trim and such. I will try to look it up in my mag and give further info on it, such as the manufacturer, and any info I may have incorrect.

67-68 have a line straight through the wheelwells, which are roundeded. 69's have squared wheelwells, and lines extending from the top of them. the marker lights were shaved, as were the louvres. 67's were the only years with cutter windows.

It is a skinned late model chassis with the body components of a 1969 Camaro. The side marker lights have been shaved as well as the 'louvers' / 'gills' in front of the rear wheelwell opening.
This car was two booths down from ours at SEMA. Wasnt near finished at that time either, so it was real easy to see what was actually done to pull it off. It was very interesting to see it at that stage of the build.......

What do you think that standard car costs? about 50K ?
anybody know?
Hell I guess I can wait until 09 for a GEN5 camaro maybe get a 427 ZL1 from GM for 50K with 3 year warranty.

Ive seen the car in person and seen how it is made.
Its done by Retro Rides, in Spanish Fork/Payson UT.
what they do is, find a junked 67-69 car.. strip it.. and use the some of the outter skins. Then they take a 4thgen body, stretch it 8 inches.. and apply the skin of the older car to the new car.
the only thing from the 4thgen body that they use in basically the floorpan/firewall, rear section.
Its quite the site to see.. you pop open the hood and see the complete 4thgen front clip and modified fire wall.. the entire interior of the 4thgen is in there..
