98-02 v6 to LS1 questions

I just wrecked my heavily modded GTO and am leaning back toward the Fbody. How realistic is it to do a conversion using my LS1(04) into a V6 bird? How difficult of a swap will it actually be? I know I can pick up V6s for cheap all day long and they are cheaper on insurance also.

Sorry if this is a repost, but I went through all the pages and didn't see any specific info.

it is very possible...but your best bet is to just find a higher mileage v8...run it till it blows, then just drop your motor in. I have seen ls1 cars on autotrader going for 5k.

i did it but my donor car was a 98 camaro
