crate engine I am putting a new motor in a 99 trans am, I would like to put an LS2 in it but need to know EVERTHING that I would need for the motor to run perfectlly in the car. Also if there is a too much involved, what would an LS6 need to run flawlessly? Any input on where to find one of these crate motors would be terrific. Thanks!

The LS1 and LS2 are pretty much the same TYPE of motor with the LS2 being new and not all part are interchangeable with the LS1.
The major things you will need to figure out is how to physically mount the motor in the car. Will you make custom motor mounts, custom oil pan with a notch, or cut the frame for clearance?
The next thing you will need will be a custom engine harness for your stand allone setup. I would recommend SpearTech for this also there are others out there like S&P (Street and Performance) that can sell you the LS2 and the harness.
That is really the two big issues mounting and a custom engine harness.

Actually the LS2 will bolt right into a 99 TransAm since the mounts are the same as the LS1. I believe all your accessories will work too. The main difference will be the elctronics, The LS2 is Drive by wire and has some sensors in different places. You may need to get the LS2 ECU, then have your harness modified. Check with Speartech, they are doing LS2 & LS7 stuff now
