weird ignition problem??????
weird ignition problem?????? Last night driving my Nova around for a bit, Shut it off in a parking lot and my electric fan stayed on (its hooked up to ignition) hmmm. Everything else shut off ok. Later When I got home I shut it off again and the engine stayed running this time. I have the one ignition wire going to a fuseblock under my hood that feeds all the ignition to the pcm/engine harness. Is all of that too much for the one ignition wire originally for the coil? Perhaps I fried the ignition switch and need to run a relay?

its thermostatically controled, on its own relay already and the relay is ignition controled. Ive had what you described happen before also, this is something all together different.... the more i think about it, it sounds like the ignition switch has gotten too hot and doesnt disengage.
try some electrical cleaner on the switch, and try to make it happen again. If you're worried about it being the fan, maybe a diode (you know, the one-way electronic thing) inline with the fan would fix it.
