Installing a LS2 in a Older GTO with FI I am considering installing a LS2 in a older GTO and want to do fuel injection for the street. I also want to go with a 6 speed tranny, instead of the 4 spedd in it currently.
Any suggestions on what FI system to go with the engine, and the best place to get a 6 speed tranny

F.A.S.T. has the Manifold, Throttlebody, Injectors, and might even have a ECU module, or is that just a controller like a hp tuner or diablo???
Check with Painless wiring for a LS2 wiring kit or talk to them and let them know what you plan on doing.
If you order a 6 speed you'll want to spec it for the weight and gears you plan on using. That way you can get good off the line performance while still getting good gas mileage.
So have you already bought the LS2 or are you going with one of the 402 LS2 kits?
Stock LS2's are good at 400/400 but the 402 kits match'd up with ETP 11deg 245's and a fat cam would make for a kick but motor.

Any F-body or GTO T56 will work for you. I'm sure that you can find something just laying around, right?

If you are patient, you might be able to score the whole set up from an 05 or newer GTO. People are bound to wreck some, and they are also likely to be low mileage. An LS2 into a 64 or 65 GTO is one of the swaps that keeps running through my mind. I'd like to keep a cleaned up, semi original appearance then add all the late model tech and suspension to it. Actually starting with a Tempest and building a clone would probably be the best route as "real" GTOs a getting expensive. I agree with Scooter on the FI and Trans. Use the factory stuff, how many millions you figure GM spent designing it? By the way, Speartech is building harnesses and tuning LS2/LS7 ECUs now. The man knows is stuff and provides great service.
