Found a motor have some questions
One other question, is there any gain in HP with the LS6 intake vs the truck if everything else stays the same? Is it worth the extra money for a car that won't see alot of track time? Thanks alot,
Jimmy

Unless you get the VIN with it and know that it is the correct VIN, it is very difficult to tell a 4.8 from a 5.3. If it comes with the PCM, the VIN can be easily read from it, as long as you know it is THE PCM that belongs with the engine.
The laser etched numbers can be almost impossible to make out and decipher also.

If you can pull the spark plug and look inside, the 4.8 will have a flat top piston, and the 5.3 will have a dished top piston; exception will be an L33, but it has an aluminum block.
