Default Quite muflers with LS1

I got the 40 series FlowMaster muflers with the kit I bought 3 years ago from Summit and I hate them. They are very loud and like to get some quiet mufflers. I'm not 20 year old anymore and I can not stand the loudnes and resonance in the car.
Any Suggestiuon?
Thanks

Hooker mufflers are pretty tame, and the SLP dual dual system too.

Hooker sounds better IMO

Wish I knew that a month ago. I finally got around to putting duals on my car and I put two flowmaster 40 series mufflers on. It was quiet with a single pipe and 40 series muffler, but with duals it is a bit loud and has interior resonance. I prefer it to be quiet like a stocker that way no one hears me until the tires break loose . But than again I paid $10 bucks a muffler so I guess I shouldn`t complain.

I've had good luck with the Magnaflow mufflers, not the expensive polished ones but the regular welded oval straight-thru design. I had a dual 3" setup on my mustang with around 500 hp and it was quiet enough in the car to hold a normal conversation when cruising, even with turn-downs. They were only loud at WOT...even then not as loud as Flowmaster by any means.

Default How about Dynomax

I came across this article on the web... Muffler Comparison

The net result was that the Walker #17749 Dynomax muffler was better than nearly any of the "performance" brands, and relatively quiet...

I have watched the Hand's at KCIR for a long time and that wagon is pretty cool. Very consistant and it just runs.

slp dual/dual or hooker aerochamber is your best bet. I love my magnaflow system though, its real nice and mellow but sounds great at WOT.

I agree, they get a little "buzzy" (had super turbos on my 65 Mustang for a bit) and I'm not sure I agree with the assessment that they make the most power, either. A friend of mine's H/C/I fox body picked up 2 mph with no other changes than a set of dumped Magnaflow straight-thru's when he swapped from the super-turbo catback. Weather was cool both outings to the track but was consistent. Just food for thought!

I'm realy confused now and Can not decide what to get. I will definetly install a X pipe to the system first and take it from there.

I'm running a custom 2.5" x-pipe system with Magnaflows, I really like the sound. And it is MUCH quieter than an equal system running Flowmasters. Sometimes I think it's too quiet.

I had my system done the first time with the dynomax mufflers, and thought it was way too loud, and raspy. Then I had it redone with a 2.5 x-pipe system, and magnaflows, and I love the sound of it now. It's has turndowns on it, and is still quiet.

My buddy just did the 3" magnaflow mufflers that were like 40 dollars a piece and wow what a difference. He used to have race flow dynomax bullets with a true dual x out the back and was extremely loud. Now I can barely hear his car on the freeway from my quiet acura. He swapped the bullet to the cat location after the headers and runs the magnaflows right before the tips.

I don't know the model but here is a pic: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...Picture056.jpg

I do know they are the fully polished stainless ones, and the price was very reasonable.

Dynomax super turbos will be really quiet, The dynomax ultra flo (oval) are also pretty quiet, yet straight through. I had the ultra flos and an X on a car and was relatively quiet and pretty smooth.
