ls1 swap air lid question

ls1 swap air lid question i'm doing an lsx swap on my 96 ss and i know people say the ls1 air box setup won't fit under the hood of a 93-97 front clip. well i'm gonna have the newer fuse box in my car which go's whare the 93-97 air box sits. i would really like the ls1 air box on my car but i don't think anyone has done it. i'm not sure if i could notch my hood or not. the only way i can see if running the lt1 elbow with a air filter cone after the MAF. but if anyone has pix/info on running any other style air cleaner/lid (especially the ls1 airlid) setup, please post em!!
A friend of mine who goes by GrannySShiftin has done the cone filter after doing the swap into his 97 SS. He cut a oval whole his radiator cover and then used about a foot or more longer elbow which puts the filter out were the ac condenser was. Works pretty good. Will have to snap a few pics next time i'm down the shop. Its more the linky going to be same thing that i am going to do when i swap mine.
