Anyone swap a 5.3 in a 3rd gen? Thinking of a 5.3 ,patriot perfomance stage 3's, possibly tsp cam not exactly for sure of size needed, but definately on like a 110 lobe seperation. bolt ons, hooked to a th350 tranny. would it run good and how much power expected?

stage 3 is too much for a 5.3, IMO. if it works, you are going to be limited in cam size and choice, certainly nothing on a 110 with a big valve and duration and lift on the cam.
check www.performancetrucks.com to see what the 5.3 truck guys are doing with heads/cam.

good luck.

I agree, patriot heads stage 3's will be huge, those are too big for the 5.7 liters. Also the MS3 is going to be HUGE again on a 5.3......i would look at that truck site and see what everyone else is running.

OK thanks, I am trying to learn all this. What heads would be good on the 5.3 and cam? Has anyone done this in a 3rd Gen?
