5.3 Vortec using Ls1 Harness/Pcm

5.3 Vortec using Ls1 Harness/Pcm Can I use any year wiring harness off a ls1 and the matching pcm, for a 99 lm7 5.3 truck engine? Also what places are good for sourcing harnesses. I just searched a little bit but some places are charging more for the truck harness then for a f body. Im putting this engine in off-road manual tranny vehicle so I dont need any emissions equipment, or any accessories. It would just have a altenator.

You can and you can`t, many of the connectors are the same, but some are different, I know the fuel injector connectors are different, and the coil pack harnesses are differnent. I`ll see if I can find the thread that lists um all. If you run a LS1 computer you will need it reflashed to run the 5.3L. Do you have the factory truck harness? Why not run that? Check the FAQ sticky for wiring info. If you are looking for a ready made harness try speartech or painless. Speartech could rework your existing harness if you have one.

i just installed my 5.3 in my 85 k10. i was under the impression at first that there wasnt any difference in the wiring, but after i did my research i found that the factory harness is quite different.. i also am not running anything but the bare necessity to make the engine run other than the ac and i am using the factory wiring from my truck to do that.

try superior harness company they can what you need all you need is a engine harness
