What's everyone using for backup light switch? anyone? |
what do you have manuel or auto? If it is manuel there is a pug in tranny for back up light switch. |
What backup lights? ;) |
You can order the short pigtail to plug into the tranny at RockAuto.com. They are cheap. |
ah, ok. where exactly is it located? I downloaded the wiring diagram and didnt see it. Would I probe for +12v there, and run it to a relay for the lights? |
well in my car (69) i connected the plug on the passanger front side of the t56 ??? IS THAT WHAT YOU HAVE ? LOL if not nevermind haha ....but if you do then i connected them to the pink and green wire i had on my center console ...done! |
yessir, i have a T56. i'll look for the connector tomorrow, thanks. olly |

Here is a link for the backup light plug. It plugs into the only place possible on the passenger side of the tranny. http://198.208.187.182/internet/Part...cpartnbr=PT107 |
what about us automatic guys???? im useing a b&m pro stick. i assume they make something for the shifter for a reverse light , no? |
Also it doesn't matter which side is power and which is ground. Its just a switch that shuts when the trans is in reverse. I used the factory wires from my car and connected them to the switch. If you are not using the factory wiring, then just run 12V to the reverse lights then run the ground from the lights to the trans switch then ground the other side of the switch. |

o1 bird trans, so i guess i'll have to make one. i completely forgot about reverse lights, i wonder what else im forgetting about????? |
Heh, I squint hard. That said for an automatic a momentary lever switch mounted in the shifter works well. |

cool. at least when i get that far i'll no it should be a no brainer.... |
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku For B&M shifters you can use this reverse / neutral safety switch, if you need it for both you will need two switches. BMM-80629 - $12.95 @ Summit Racing Marc |
sweet, and cheap. :) |
b&m switch All that is is a simple limit switch that you can rob off of an old dryer (it stops the dryer when the door opens) or other electric apliance or purchase at any decent electrical supply store. There are different types normally open and normally closed you can make a reverse light circut work with either. but it would be simple to just put a normally closed one in the groud side of the circut |
Wouldn't you need a normally open, so when it closed it would complete the circuit? |
