Default 4L60e yoke and vacuum questions

I am putting a LS1 and 4L60e in a '67 camaro. I am almost finished with it but I had a couple of questions that I couldn't find answers to in the search. The original transmission in the car was a 2 speed powerglide (aluminum). It has a 27 spline output shaft. I had the original driveshaft shortened and when I went to install it, it wouldn't the 4L60e output shaft! I checked and both yoke and output shaft were clean. It almost seemed like the yoke diameter was just a littel to small. From everything I've read this should've fit. Were there some wierd old powerglides with different output shafts or am I missing something? Also, what are the ~1/4" dia. vacuum tubes that are on top of the transmission for and where do they connect? Thanks for your help.

Vac lines probably won't be used with the new set up.
