x-pipe muffler
when i discussed this w/ a friend he said it is not wise b/c u would be changing the back pressure from the back of the car to the front. when i asked the person who originally posted the Magnaflow 2in/2out muffler, he said that it shouldnt make a difference.
i figured i would ask opinions in the hybrid section, since u guys think outside the box and maybe have tried this. i want my car to be quiet at idle and at low rpm highway commutes. i dont mind robbing the car of a few hp w/ a more restrictive exhaust, but if it is going to restrict alot of hp and some tq then forget it.
wut do u think about a "muffled x-pipe" w/ bullet mufflers at the rear?
i looked up the above mentioned muffler and it would be a better route. thank u for the reply.
i need to check my ground clearance before i purchase either muffler. on my old car my down pipe was so low and got caught on everything i dont want the same problem w/ this car.
i think the DynoMax one is a better option though. i feel more comfortable knowing that the company refers to it as an x-pipe.
Its actually a perforated core and not actually the same thing or principal as an X-pipe. Both the Magnaflow and the Dynomax products are of the same idea and internal construction. I feel that this would make an excellent resonator but it lacks in the operational principals of what you are trying to gain from running an X-pipe.
The flomaster resonator that in used in their ZR-1 kit would actually fit your application the best. It was designed narrow to fit down the center of the shaft tunnel and would do the same basic thing as an X-pipe... but in a single pressure vessal package. I just dont know if Ray will sell them outside of the full kit.
If I could use one on my system and actually make it fit.... I wouldnt even think twice. It sounds totally badass.
Just saw this and I think this is the one your talking about

This is what I'm looking at for the Monza as there isn't a lot of room under the car.
