LS1 Motor Mount U- Brackets (Where to get them)
LS1 Motor Mount U- Brackets (Where to get them) I am looking for a pair of steel U shaped brackets looks kinda like this |___| that bolt to the regular LS1 motor mounts. I bought a set of these a couple years ago from a company that sells this piece welded to a flat plate for bolting into 3rd Gen F-Bodys. I called them today to buy another pair and they said they don't sell them that way anymore.
They are nice because the ends are rounded to clear the little piece that sticks out on the motor mount. They also aready have the holes for the motor mount bolt predrilled.
Any idea where I can find a pair of these?

I talked to the place where I bought them before again today and he said he would check with his supplier and get me a price if they will sell them that way. They used to weld the u bracket to the plate in house, but now they buy them already assembled.
I can't believe I can't find these anywhere else. Unless you are just sticking an LS1 in something that used to have a BBC or SBC, these IMO are the best way to build motor mounts. The u-brackets bolt to the factory motor mounts, make a plate bolt to your chassis, then connect the two with either round or rectangle stock.
