LT1 Conversion, what do I need!?
What exactally do I need? I want to put an LT1 in my 69 Chevelle and I'm trying to find a definitive list of parts to complete the swap. I plan on buying a full pullout engine and 4L60E tranny with full accessories, harness, and computer. What parts do I need to finish, and where's a good place to buy them?
Dropping in the LT1 into the Chevelle should be a no problem, should just bolt right up for one. Search the LS1Tech.com for the LT1-LT4 forum for help on your ECM programming. How about you LS1Tech Sponsers. can you help this poor guy out on the programming ?
The LT1 does use reverse cooling if I remember correctly.
It is a lot less work and $$$ than a LS1. Most of your current accessories should fit or can be used. I think once you get the engine and compare, you will see how ease it will be.
The only real mod you will have to make is the Fuel system, (Pumps, filters, return line and tank mods) the electrical and ECM.
S&P does list a lot of conversion parts for the LT1 also has a write up on a swap they did.

Good luck.

Hey thanks. That's a nice looking article, probably answer a lot of questions.
I just want to know what I'm doing before I start because I've never tried anything like this or even know anyone who has. I've never liked figuring it out as I go either. I want all my parts layed out in front of me when I start, lol.
Any other help, advice, tips, links, whatever, will be appriciated.
