Default Tach question

I'm running my factory tach in my 70 camaro and I haven't got the computer switched over to 8 cylinder yet, so roughly how far off is my tach gonna be?

Its going to read half. So if you are running 4000 RPM it will show 2000 on the tach. The PCM outputs 2 pulses per revolution where a normal V8 does 4 per revolution.

Dakota Digital makes an interface box that will also change it for you.
