Convert Corvette Flexplate for 4L60e?
I have a 2004 Corvette engine, and the flex plate that came wiht it. It has another plate bolted AND riveted to it that another piece bolts to which hooks into the drive shaft (I'm sure that is not the right term) going back to the transmission.
What is anyone's thoughts about my grinding those rivets out and taking that extra plate off in order to use that flex plate in front of a 4L50e transmission that I have? Looks like the bolt pattern would be right if I do that. I'm told that stuff is 'internally balanced', whatever that means.

Thats exactly what i did for my ls1 to 700r4 trans swap, the convertor bolted right up to it,havent had any problems at all.I just ground the rivets off and the convertor bolted right to those spots.
