v6 to v8 conversion

Hey guys i know this is a gm forum but a friend of mine wants to change his v6 mustang to a v8 its a 1998, i was wondering if he could stuff a 5.0 in there? if not what could he do, he has a bout 5k to do the job is that even possible? What are your thoughts?

If he wants to go fast..........

Ditch the 5.0 idea and install an LS1. Mechanically it's about the same, wiring a little more involved, but the results are worth it! Besides, he won't have another 5.0 wanna be fast Stang.

the guy only has $5000, good luck finding a complete setup with harness, PCM, Trans, ect..... and still having all the money left over to do all the other mods, unless he is doing most of his own fab work, then it shouldnt be too bad a problem, still has to make it tight to fit on his budget

so is a 5.0 do able on that budget guys? or would i be better off getting a used ls1 put in there.

um, no. going the LS1 route, your looking at about 6 grand just for the engine and transmission. I personally think you would be better off with the 4.6 SOHC.
