Smile 6.0 engine ideas wanted

I want to put a 6.0 truck engine in my 70 Impala. The truck intake is too tall to fit under the hood, so I will have to swap. What do you guys recommend? I also plan on installing another camshaft and dual exhaust. I want as much power as possible with a cam that is not too noticeable and a car that is fairly quiet (at least around town). Some people claim that a Z06 intake is as good as a FAST; is it worth going to a FAST to get the large 90mm intake; I have just seen a spacer to install at the entrance of the intake that claims a 22hp gain (which seems a lot...).
How far can I go in this direction with the stock computer? Does anyone have any clue about the exhaust manifolds? I would love to use factory manifolds (Corvette seem so good!), but do not know yet what would fit; if nothing factory fits, does anyone make headers for my swap yet?

i used a set of z06 manifolds in my camaro, but ONLY because the motor was set back and i have a tubular front end. they dont fit much, but flow EXTREMELY WELL.
i have a set for sale if interested.

the truck manifold should fit fine under your hood. its no taller than a small block would be with an intake and a carb w/air filter. but it doesnt flow to well above 5K if you are looking for all out HP. make some nice tq to get the big car rolling if it was just a cruiser.

there are a ton of options, and i really dont think you can go wrong with anything.
id run the ls6 over the fast, unless its a track queen.
10-15hp isnt worth the 1500 bucks by the time you get the TB to go with it.

im building what i like to call a "Mini LS7." im using the LS7 cam, L92 heads, hopefully the l76 intake, and tuck manifolds.

I'd be interested to see the results in that setup.

Where is the intake hitting? A 4bbl style intake converted to injection with a speed density tune might work too. Some guys are running healthy cams with a speed density and keeping a reasonable idle.

That truck intake should fit under your hood with plenty of room to spare , I got one on my 70 Corvette and it fits great. Also the truck intake will make as much or more power than a LS6 intake as long as the cam is about 224 deg. or less. Stan
