Default GTO LS2 engine into a '68 Camaro?

Any problems getting it in there? I got a line on one with a T-56 trans that comes with everything imaginable including the kitchen sink for $8500 and it only has 4025 miles on it. Is that a reasonable price? It's being pulled from an '05 GTO.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Tony

Default Is that at Schramm?

Good if everything is there. Get everything you can from them.

I was told it does not come with the Drive-By-Wire cable that plugs into the gas pedal and harness or the clutch master cylinder.

And yes...it's from Schram. Are they any good?

an '06 LS2 from a GTO wiht 2988 miles, clutch, and flywheel just sold on here for $3000 2 days ago. i'd wait and find a better deal than that. you can also pick up a low mileage, or rebuilt t-56 trans for under $1500. i'd wait and put the other $3000-$4000 towards something else. bottom line, if you can hold off, you can get a better deal than that. hell, you could even pick up a sub 50k mileage motor for $2500 and have it gone through and add forged pistons & rods for around $2000, add a decent head/cam pkg maybe for another $2500 installed & tuned, and still have $1500 left to put towards a decent 6spd plus a little extra, but you'd have a much more potent motor that's 100% fresh. just an idea. good luck with whatever route you go.

There are 3 plugs that come off of the LS2 E40 ECM. Two go directly to the motor and trans. The third runs through the firewall to the dash fuse box. You have to cut a 12" by 12" hole in the firewall to pull it. This is the third harness:

That's not a bad price to get everything basicly brand new. Look at what people are asking for complete 5 year old LS6 motor and trans combos for comparison. That is what the LS2 motor best compares to.

The price is good. I got my LS2 from them and no regrets. The Oil pand won't work on your 68 (you need the LS1 oil pan from a 1998-2002 Camaro). You will need to pay a good electronics guy to help you with drive by wire set up ( I payed $900 for all the engine electronic re-wire a bit much but It pays to have the experts do it). The AC compressor has hose ports to the side you'll need to adddress that to cleas the frame.
