03 5.3 Electronic throttle control

Just picked up an 03 5.3 engine/tranny, I just have a couple questions about the electronic throttle control. What exactly does it take to put it back to a cable? I have the 2003 ecm but dont' have the throttle control module or petal and ebay doesnt have much. Any help on this is appreciated. The 5.3 is goinh in my 66 chevy shortbed. Thanks

you can get tac & pedal from speartech (not cheap) or buy a cable driven throttle body from ebay/salvage-yard. tacs occasionally show up on classifieds on this site. do a search.

I also converted a 2003 engine over to cable drive. Initially I was going to use the drive by wire stuff but after buying the wrong parts (2002 TAC and pedal no worky with 2003 t-body), I found a new cable operated t-body on Ebay and got it going that way....

I picked up 2005 TAC module and pedal with harness from Silverado at scrap yard for $30 bucks. Works great. Keep your ETC, this handles the cruise control also.

I understand if you go cable,.. after the obvious manual parts swap,.. then a programmer like hptuners is needed to help the computer react properly and see what messages are sent in/out...
