gunna pick up a 5.7 shortblock this weekend! im gunna use it in my 86 yota truck. It cam outa my buddies h/c 2001 TA w/ 45,000 miles.
I'ma go through it with new some diamond pistons, new gapless rings, maybe some Eagle rods... or something kinda cheap(its kind of a budget build) and just freshen it up some. I have the orginal 5.7 heads that came off my motor that I'll have a little decking work done on and cleaned up. I have started porting on the heads and I have to finish that up soon.
The only things I really need are engine covers, a valve train, and the pistons, wrings and rods.
My buddy has the built t56 that im buying from him for the project.... i'ma try to get started on it in a few weeks ( when I get the rest of the parts for the 408 for the trans am and get all that buttoned up and back on the street)
