No Mason but it is definetly a conversion I am looking to do as well. Just have to find a cheap six cylinder 5-speed car. Please don't bid against me on EBAY.

well lets look at this.. they come with V8s.. its most likely the same 4.6 thats in mustangs, you can swap in an LS1 by modifying the stock motor mounts... so by my estimates it would be as easy as swapping it into a mustang, which is pretty easy..

ah, didnt know that

anyways, you can just make motor mounts, getting the motor physicaly in the car is about the easiest part of a swap. only in a very few cars do the LS1s not physicaly fit

As stated above, the LS V8 is not the 4.6, it is the Jag 3.9L A group of Ford guys ran an LS in the 2004 One Lap of America with a Kenne Bell blown 4.6 in it so it should physically fit.

Yeah but you want the stick not the auto that's why you go with the V6 and 5 speed so you have the pedals and such. Swap in the LS1, T56, shortened driveshaft (maybe) and away you go.

I recently had one in my shop so I took some measurements and it will physically fit. But the rack and pinion is on the back end of the frame and I cant think of a production pan or even a canton that would fit, and Ive never seen a ford type front sump pan for an ls1 . also the trans tunnel is only 12" every automatic that would go on an ls1 is 14" wider or more so t-56 it is without hacking up the tunnel.

So it's a rear steer, the holden pan would work perfectly.
