Sorta close. It is a fiberglass aftermarket drag car camaro body that he reshaped and built a hull onto. He is from California and last I heard he was thinking of producing them. They are mid/rear engined and powered by a suburau WRX engine. For water propulsion it uses a berkeley jet drive. The site is www.watercar.com

that thing is pretty damn cool IMO. the wheels pull up into the body and skids go under them. i think i would just make it full custom instead of using a camaro body. i guess this really makes the camaro into a catfish

My thoughts exactly. I would like to own one in a couple years when I graduate, but I couldn`t do it unless the motor was changed.

In the article that I read (could have been in Hot Boat or trailer boats) it said that he used the suburau motor because it was very compact, light, and had a high HP output for its size. I would really like an LSx in ther but it might weigh too much. I don`t know how much the back of the hull can support, and you don`t want to get the balance point wrong on a boat. Plus an LSx might put out too much power for the retractable drivetrain components. The jet drive would hold the power though upgrade the impeller and shaft and they`ll hold 2000HP easy
