No Heater flow

No Heater flow Has anyone had problems with coolant flow through the heater core in their conversion? Ever since I swapped the motor in my car my heat has not been the same. If the car is warm and you flip the heat on hot and the fan to high the vents blow out hot air for about 2 minutes then it turns to luke warm air. If you grab the hoses going to the heater core with the engine hot and running but the heat off both hoses are hot, but if you flip the heat on the output hose becomes cool just as the heat inside the car starts blowing luke warm.
Today I finally popped the hoses off the heater core and put them in a bucket, when I started the car theres no flow coming out of either hose. If I rev the engine up there is a little flow, but more like a trickle than a hose full
. Does anyone have any idea why theres no flow? Is this a problem with the engine or the conversion? Is the heatercore on a truck below the top of the engine and the coolant flows in via gravity?
