Default Torque tube lengthening

Has anyone lengthened a torque tube? What's involved? What would it cost?

Just getting some ideas for a new project.

According to the website, ATS did it for the project 50/50 car. Hopefully Tyler will see this and respond.

The guy that manages Jay Leno's garage lengthened the one for his Toranado. Maybe you could contact Jay's garage for help.

The guys at dream car garage lengthened the inner shaft just like any driveshaft and then cut another torque tube and TIG welded the section they needed.

I probably won't be doing this until next winter. Have to sell my corvette first and find the new car. I will definitely post pics and progress reports

We have a kit to do this,
and also have the th400 or 4l80-e transmission as a transaxle package for hot rod and conversion cars
I can make the torque tube any size needed
I have one in my 1999 camaro with the engine in the stock location using the c-5 suspention
here is the kit with the 4l80-e

I wonder if that type of drivetrain could be adapted to a '97-'03 Grand Prix.

Would you mind posting some pics of your 99? It sounds like a neat little hybrid and I'd love to see how it turned out.
