Default '74 GMC sprint

a good friend of mine just picked up a 74 gmc sprint and hes looking to put a bigger motor in it. was wondering if anyone had any suggestions into what he could go with, or what is the biggest motor he could put in it. any help is apreceated. thanks in advance

You can put most Chevy small blocks or big blocks into it with little to no modifications, or you can swap in an LS1. I would have him decide on what he wants to spend and how much work he wants to do first and go from there.

I had one of those with a 454 in it. Man, getting to the last 2 passenger side spark plugs took all damn day I don't know how collectible that car is, or if it would be worth the trouble. However, I did like mine and it had a nice ride, but that's because it was pretty heavy, around 4200 pounds.

TTT this wont be a DD. but he wants to stay with a carbed motor, and hes considering a blower for it.
