Yeah I love G35s and those VQ35DE engines are great engines but putting an LSx combo in there would be really cool. The Titan V8 is also nice but it just can't compare to the LSx's potential. Its just a matter of time before someone does it. I can't wait.

Sport Compact Car magazine was considering a V8 swap out of the Titan or the V8 out of the M45 too... I bet if you email them they'll send you the info.

correct me if im worng, but the skylines coming up (basically a g35) will have a 4.5 v8 i believe. And it is not true that an ls1 has more potential then a titan v8, theres more of a market but people are making huge numbers on those nissan motors. not talking bout warlock or LSX blocks, stock block vs stock block probably very even.

The Skyline will have a VQ35 variant motor. It WILL be V6 and turbocharged and not a V8.

The G35 is a fairly new car and I cant see sombody picking one up for a swap just yet.. The performance potential of the VQ35 will also keep people from yanking that motor out in favor of another.

find someone who blew one up. i have a friend with a G35 and i cant talk him into it, he is insisting on doing an expensive TT setup.

what he keeps on bringing up is that the japanese have completely intertwined the body computers and the engine computers. so if you did a motor swap you would have no gauges, no airbags, no lights, no anything..

Oh. Well that's a huge problem, haha.

I wonder if the Titan V8 would solve any of those problems. Not really the swap I wanted, though.

I don't doubt the tuning potential of the Titan V8 (5.6/DOHC/32V) I'm just saying that in America the LSx engines rule due to its simplicity, light weight and low cost tuning potential. The Tritan is much heavier and has way more parts to replace to make them run with an LSx. It would be kinda crazy to tear up a G35 just yet though as they are still very new and beautiful cars.

Hard if not impossible to beat an LSx for weight/size/power/aftermarket support/price

But this 350z down under is one of the best sounding cars

I personally love the way a 20B sounds, its right up there with a VR6 VW, a V12 Lambo or Ferrari. Too bad the engine is just too old school for my liking. If Mazda would update the 20B like they did the Renisis 13B then I'd be interested. Lets see, take a Renisis and add another rotor housing to it, HMMMM......

chris forseberg did it.

the motor barely fits between the strut towers, and is iron block.

ls1 woudl be lighter and easier.

I don't understand why anyone would waste their time and money trying to put an LSX into a 350Z. What a waste of a good motor

So they could put the VQ into something really small like a Corolla or Tercel An NA LS1 with boltons makes more power than a VQ would with boost. Thats why. To each his own man..........
