Modified CTS-V oil pan
My uncle cut the pan and made 3 pieces (two 1/8" aluminum plate pieces and one 3/16" aluminum pipe cut) to reshape the pan. He tacked it together with a TIG welder. I put the pan on my engine and it fit great - excellent clearance and no signs of warping. He says the added material shrinks when it cools, so you just have to go slow and be careful. He has been doing this a while so I believe him. To finish it, I think I am going to pull the junk engine I have and bolt the pan to the block just to be safe.
