Default Kiesler bellhousing depth

I am putting an LS2 in a 68 camaro and using a Muncie 4 speed behind the ls engine. I purchased a Kiesler bellhousing to mate up the Muncie with the ls block ( the bellhousing is well made with accurate machining). I have encounter a problem with the depth of the bellhousing being about .500 inch deeper than a stock sbc bellhousing. The transmission front shaft only enters the pilot bearing 1/8 inch. I have not found out if this is a mistake by Kiesler. I wanted to make others aware of this problem and to ask if anyone else has encountered this. I will probably solve this by leaving the pilot bushing out about .300 inch (not fully seated in the crank). It is always frustrating to get parts that do not work as advertised. Chuck

Chuck,

You need an extended pilot bearing because the LS1 has a different crank offset than 1st gen SBCs.

Thanks Andrew. I asked the guys at Kiesler about that. Do you have any suggestions who I might contact to get an extended pilot?

McLeod makes an extended bearing. I am not sure what the PN is.

Here is some more info:

Looks like this thread has the P/N`s for the GM extended pilot bushing and an aftermarket one. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=pilot
