That's a sweet ride! That is gonna be so awesome when you finish it!

My uncle has a 67 Ambassador DPL w/ a 343. My great Grandfather bought it new in 67, and gave it to my uncle when he passed away. It recently just rolled over 100k miles, everything's all original. My uncle wants to build up a new 343 for it, but I'm trying to talk him into an LSx. It's a hard decision though, seeing as it's been in the family so long, and is so original. In theory, someday I'm supposed to get it, and it sure would be nice with a LSx/4l60e combo with working A/C. Great for long trip, and maybe even the Power Tour!

thats a sweet ambassador...i would sugest one thing ...remove the factory crossmember and all engine/trans combo.save all of it..get used crossmember and work off of it.. dont make holes in the car. i think it could be done without hurting the car....my opinion..
glad you like mine ...i cant wait to drive it ..

That looks killer radrambler. Whas there a magazine spread done on your car in the recent past? That one picture in primer in front of the garage door looks familiar.

I'lll probably get flamed, but I would opt to keep it original rather than bastadize such a nice and unique car. Especially improtant since it's in the family which would give it some additional value. They are becomming rare.

The drive train is all pretty standard stuff, so the parts are easy to find. If you find a need to tear into the motor, you could upgrade to a 390 which is the same externally and give you a bit more umph. FWIW.

thats one sweet Rambler. Makes me wish I didn't sell my 67 Rogue. I used to enjoy going to the drags. I ran a small block chevy / 9" narrowed rear with 14 X 31" slicks, (stock wheel openings) ran 10.60's at 125 MPH. nice to see more AMC's getting built. Looking fwd to more pictures.

Love it RR. My dad use to have a 69 HURST/SC Rambler. One of his all time favorites. I'm gonna have to show him this build.

thanks....i hope its interesting if nothing else...i did want to build something totally different that would make people stop and look . ill keep posting updates ..ive done more work but grey epoxy primer doesnt really get anybody excited .im shooting spray in liner on the floors/wheelwells soon.
i think of it as a modernized sc/rambler...still red white and blue but it will turn corners and perform like no other..

Rambling man that is one fine ride you're creating. I dig the 2 tone paint scheme. I'm still contemplating what do paint wise with my box.
