240sx s14 swaps
MY first post goes a little like this. Right now I have a ka-t pushing 311hp/278tq. Right now I have a pretty decent deal on a LS1 with tranny. I would like to make the switch to the V8 world. I been doing a lot of reading/searching and trying to gather as much info before purchasing my engine. I have one question though. Say I get the engine, 5speed, ecu, and misc parts from a totaled ws6 for $3k. How much more do you think it will cost to get the car up and running? I have the tools to build an exhaust and mounts. I'm a big DIY person. LEt me know what you guys think.

first of all if its a ws6 manual is a m6 t56 6 speed not 5 speed. also depends on how far into motor you get . i replaced the oil pump with ported cnc ls6 oil pump redid some gaskets , gto oil pan, custom drivline, mounts, custum headers, custom power steering lines, its just 1 thing after another some people say they have les that 6k total. i think im in the 7s with my swap. mufflers gauges radiator fans it all adds up. if you have a koyo for a ka already that will work on the ls1, just got to by the right hoses and reducers. also if you get stock harness modified to stand alone or buy a standalone harness or do it yourself. depends also on the price. do more research and you will get a acurate number.

gotta sell that ka-t first
you could always just buy the already built ls13 on here for sale.
i say diy. make mounts,headers
you have exhaust,radiator,gauges etc (right?)
that'll save you some money
