lsx into eldorado Anybody ever hear of any swaps like this being done? I have a 95 Eldo, with a perfect body, and I think it would be a neat swap. A TON of work, but it looks like it CAN be done. I tried the search, but I didn't get any hits on this body style.

Nope, Eldorados are all FWD(Unless you go back to the 50's/60's).
If you want to keep it FWD, the northstar is a good engine already. 315hp V8. But if you wanted to go RWD, It can be done with a lot of work. Look at the thread in this section with the Vauxhall(I think thats what it was). Also there is a guy on cardomain that made his 95ish Grand Prix RWD. Anything can be done, but it's going to cost you time and money.
I've never heard of it done on an Eldorado, though I have thought about it myself and think it would be really cool. I love those cars except that they're FWD.

Ive got a 94 eldorado, and even though the car has alot of go for a little 279 cube engine I would love to feel it with some cubes under the hood. I miss my LT1 torque. that would kick *** in this car.

I really like the 94-95 body style! But.....it looks like a TON of work. I was thinking of obviously doing a rwd conversion, with air ride shoks, and stuff. Maybe a 6 speed, too. I don't know..... I'm sure I could do it, I have all the tools, and equipment, I'm just afraid of taking so long, I'd start to lose interest. I read the whole Vauxhaull thread, while really interesting, you'd almost have to do something like that full time, not try to juggle work into the mix.

Collecting all of the parts you'd need before you start tearing it apart and doing more research would really speed up the time it takes to do the project. I'd start taking measurements and try to figure out where and how everything would mount up so that you dont end up sitting there with no drivetrain and no suspension wonder how the hell you're going to put it all back together.
If I had the time and room to do something like that, I'd love to. I've been wanting a RWD 6 speed eldorado since like 2000. But personally I like the last few years of the Eldorado the best.
