Am I less of a man to say that scares me just thinking about it (in a good way)!

Please tell me you will bring that to Blackhawk Farms or Autobahn CC for some time attacks!

Dennis started in business with a guy some of you older guys might know, John Butera. Those two were quite a pair in their day. John eventually left R & B and moved to CA where he worked with some of the best rod builders on the west coast. Your history lesson for the day.

Nice. I was thinking about this project the other day when I passed an old restored mini that runs around town.

That thing is going to be AMAZING lol.

One of the main reasons I went with the LS1 is that it is within 30 lbs. or so of the Iron V6 that the car had when I got it- so I won't have to do new springs/shocks etc.

No idea. Got a good deal on the car, I bought the engine&trans from Speartech with a harness for around $5k. I really only spend $$ on parts, and do everything myself. I'd rather buy the tools I need and take the time to do it rather than pay someone- that way I end up with knowledge + "free" tools (tools usually cost less that what you'd pay someone). So I didn't "spend" any money except for materials for the cage, I'll have a connection to make a gas tank, I'll do the interior sheetmetal, bigger brakes will likely be from a civic in the boneyard, I'll make new wheels to fit, etc...

But all that takes time because a lot of this will be a first for me.

I just saw you are up in Northern IL. My fiancee lives in Deerfield so my LS1 RX7 should be around that area quite often. If it's going to be street legal we definitely need to get a LS1 hybrid cruise together to see everyone's handiwork.

That give new meaning to the phrase "All Motor". Is it a tight fit sitting in that car? Looks like you don't have a lot of interior to work with.

Considering I'm 6', 240 lbs it's ok. Once you're in it, it's not too bad. The hard part was coming up with where to mount the column so you could both get into the car, and then grab the wheel comfortably. You sort of have to sit with your legs bent like when you're in a go-kart.

This could never be done with the regular hatchback bodystyle without stretching the front fenders.

That's just awesome!

Forgive me if you've posted this before (I haven't seen this car build up yet)-

Have you calculated what the "power to weight" ratio will be for this car?
