got some pics of the car...
checked the RPO list,
9c1 police package
j55 heavy duty brakes
jb3 suspension package, special handling
and best of all
GU6 3.42 rear axle....
i'm pretty happy about this swap now...
is the rear end in these the 8.5? what can I get a posi unit out of that will fit?

If I recall correctly I think it is a 8.5" 10 Bolt rear end in mine.... so yours may or may not be the same since it is a 9C1.

I believe the B-bodies of that age were available with an 7.5" or 8.5". Since yours is a 9c1 it should have the 8.5, but I would double check it

Search Ebay for a 94'-96' Impala SS rearend, it will fit without any mods being required. I have an 80' 2-dr Caprice Landau that I am currently swapping in an LS1 and I already have the rear set in place.
