I am ordering a PRC aluminum crossflow radiator tomorrow for the 5.3 in my 56 Chevy. My question: Is there a better way to connect the rad hose to the radiator, instead of the hose clamp method? Are there AN fittings that large, for example?

there are an fitting that large, but where to get them i dont know other than calling someone who sells smaller ones, they should be able to contact their vendor. and just think of the cost. try aeroquip
p.s. who's prc and what did your rad cost? i may try to go cross-flow for clearance issues myself.

There definetely are AN fittings that large, just contact Summit, Jegs, or any other vendor that carries AN stuff.
Personally, to me, it's a bit overkill. If you don't like standard hose clamps, you can get either T-bolt style clamps, or Gates shrink-style clamps (basically some really tough shrink tubing). The shrink clamps work very well and provide a clean installation.
